John Legend to Celebrate Career with 'Love in Las Vegas' Residency

Like Adele, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, and many more artists as of recently, John Legend is also planning an upcoming Las Vegas residency.

According to Billboard, the 12-time Grammy winner will perform 24 dates between April and October, 2022 at Zappos Theater - the Planet Hollywood location where fellow The Voice judge Gwen Stefani just closed out her Las Vegas residency.

Legend's residency deal was made with Caesars Entertainment and the show will be titled Love in Las Vegas. The EGOTer promises a "full career show" that will take a nostalgic trip through his entire discography.

“The setlist will be a cool, career retrospective. A little more about older songs for my fans from back in 2004—they will hear everything they’ve loved over the years,” said Legend. “We’ll play songs from all the albums. My whole catalogue—my whole career summed up in a performance.”

Legend continued, “This is the 15-year anniversary of Once Again, my second album. It’s amazing that we’ve had a sustained impact for this long. And it’s also weird when you meet new artists who say, ‘I grew up listening to you,” Legend said with a laugh. “We’re so fortunate to be in a position where we’ve had longevity and people still want to hear what we have to offer. And I’m still making new music. I’m planning to put new music out next year, too. But I want to celebrate my whole career. I’m so grateful to have this many years to mine my repertoire of music.”

Legend is very familiar with Vegas thanks to spending time with his family there, and plans to bring the love he created on his tour to Sin City.

“My music has always been a celebration of love. And that’s what we want to do with this concert. We just had the ‘Bigger Love’ tour. And we want to bring that love to Las Vegas. We’re going to celebrate the music, we’re going to celebrate love, celebrate the connection that people feel when they’re at my shows and how we feel with them.”

Fans can expect Legend to channel some of the elements from his 2021 Bigger Love tour, which intimately showcased his pristine vocals and piano playing. With the freedom in Vegas, the production of the show will be a bit bigger. Still, Legend wants to keep a trademark close feel. Legend also promises to have "three or four costume changes" and will be performing his hit "All of Me" at his shows.

As for other John Legend news, the singer recently departed long-time label Columbia to move to Republic Records where he will release new music in 2022. Alongside Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, and Blake Shelton, he's currently serving as a coach for season 21 of The Voice.

Tickets for Legend's Love in Las Vegas shows go on sale Monday, December 13. More information - including performance dates - can be found on Legend's website.
