Primus are heading out on a special North American tour in which they'll be performing Rush’s 1977 album A Farewell to Kings front to back as well as their own set.
Entitled A Tribute to Kings, the trek will take the band to cities all across North America from late May to early August. Stops include Houston, New Orleans, Orlando, Atlanta, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and more. Wolfmother, The Sword, and Battles will join Primus on select dates.
Primus’ A Tribute to Kings has been in the works for months after they previously settled on bringing A Farewell to Kings on tour instead of Rush's Hemispheres. They settled on the album because it is the first-ever Rush record Primus frontman Les Claypool had heard. Given the recent passing of Rush drummer Neil Peart, Primus are mindful of how they honor Peart and Rush, stating the tour is "about admiration for these amazing musicians and friends."
Tickets are currently on sale. See the band's website for more info.
