Brandi Carlile revealed that she is the official ambassador of Record Store Day 2020. The singer-songwriter announced the news in a video filmed in her attic recording studio in Seattle with “the twins,” her longtime collaborators Phil and Tim Hanseroth.
In the video, Carlile says, “What independent record stores do is that they mine, archive, love, meticulously care for, and make available to you other people’s dreams.”
She continues, “The Twins and I have never made an album that we didn’t intend to be in an independent record store. Thank you so much for recognizing this love in me and the Twins and giving us this opportunity. We won’t let you down.”
Record Store Day 2020 is the 13th annual celebration of independent record stores across the world, and it takes place April 18. The full list of participating stores is available here, and the list of exclusive releases will be announced at a later date.
