The film adaptation of the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen has officially been given a release date. The Stephen Chbosky-directed movie is due out Sept. 24, 2021 via Universal.
The film will see Ben Platt reprising his Tony-winning role as Evan Hansen alongside castmates Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Amandla Stenberg, and Kaitlyn Dever.
Steven Levenson, who wrote the book of the stage musical, wrote the script with music and lyrics by the songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Dear Evan Hansen is produced by Marc Platt and Adam Siegel and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Levenson, Pasek, and Paul.
