After 16 seasons, Adam Levine will be saying goodbye to NBC’s The Voice. Levine revealed the news on Friday via Instagram.
Gwen Stefani, a coach on seasons 7, 9, and 12 as well as Blake Shelton’s girlfriend, will be taking Levine's place on the 17th season of the show alongside Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson.
Levine was part of the original coach lineup when The Voice lanched in 2011. Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green were also part of that lineup. Levine and Shelton have been coaches throughout the show's existence while two of the coaching seats have regularly rotated out to include Alicia Keys, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Shakira, to name a few.
Over the years, Levine and Shelton's frenemie relationship has been a staple of the show.
Regarding the news, Shelton tweeted, "It hasn’t set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot."
The 16th season of the show just ended, with soulful singer Maelyn Jarmon winning alongside coach John Legend. Levine departs The Voice having coached three champions.

Having a hard time wrapping my head around @adamlevine not being at @NBCTheVoice anymore. After 16 seasons that changed both of ours lives. I only found out about this yesterday and it hasn’t set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot.
