A new podcast that explores Dolly Parton’s life story and what her journey reveals about America is debuting this fall. Entitled Dolly Parton’s America and hosted by Parton and Jad Abumrad, co-host of the popular public radio series Radiolab, the podcast will be split into nine parts.
Abumrad teased the series on Twitter, saying, “She’s been called the “Great Unifier” for her rare ability to bring people together across divides. What does @DollyParton’s story tell us about America? I’ve been going back home to Nashville to figure it out.” He noted, "The term “Great Unifier" comes from writer Sarah Smarsh’s series on Dolly Parton in the journal No Depression."
The official premiere date for Dolly Parton’s America has yet to be announced. You can sign up for updates on the series here.
