The 20th Annual BET Awards will air virtually tonight (Sunday, June 28, 2020) on BET and CBS at 8pm ET. Amanda Seales is set to host the show, which will use "an array of innovative techniques and artist-generated content."
Performers & Tributes:
Performers for the night include Alicia Keys, Chloe X Halle, DaBaby, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Lil Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion, D Smoke, Jonathan McReynolds, Kane Brown, Roddy Ricch, SiR, Summer Walker, Usher, and Wayne Brady. BET Amplified Artists Masego and Lonr will also deliver a performance each.
As for tributes, Lil Wayne will perform a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant and Wayne Brady will honor Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Little Richard.
Special Awards:
A few special awards will be given out throughout the night as well. Beyoncé will receive this year's Humanitarian Award in recognition of her BeyGOOD initiative.
Nicolas Johnson, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and D-Nice will be recognized as the Shine a Light honorees for their "exceptional resilience, ingenuity and creativity in the face of adversity."
Additionally, the International Global Good Award will be given to French anti-racist activist Assa Traoré. The award recognizes "public figures who use their platform for social responsibility and goodness while demonstrating a commitment to the welfare of the global Black community."
