Dave Grohl Appears in Two Teasers for Crown Royal Super Bowl Commercial
Get ready to see Dave Grohl on your TV screen during Super Bowl LVII! The Foo Fighters singer will appear in a commercial for Canadian whiskey brand Crown Royal. The ad is set to air during the big game on February 12 between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
As a teaser, during Sunday’s NFC and AFC championship games, Grohl appeared in a pair of mysterious 30-second ads for Crown Royal.
Sitting in a recording studio, Grohl grabs a piece of paper and reads off what appears to be a random list of unrelated phrases. “The Paint Roller? The battery? No! Trash bags? The replay? No way. The egg carton? Did you know the egg carton?” he asks one of his engineers, who nods knowingly. The teaser ends on a cliffhanger, leaving us unsure of what Grohl's rundown means.
In a second 15-second teaser, Grohl merely says “thank you” over and over with different inflections into a microphone.
“Dave is a Crown Royal super fan and the perfect partner to spread a message of gratitude to the audience that is authentic to the brand,” said Crown Royal spokesperson Sophie Kelly in a statement. Dave's full ad is slated to air during the third quarter of the game in Glendale, Arizona. So far, there have been several Super Bowl teasers of music celeb-heavy ads, including ones starring Ozzy Osbourne, Missy Elliott, Jack Harlow, and Meghan Trainor.
In other Foo Fighters news, the rock band – who recently grieved the loss of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins – is set to come back this year. They have already been added to the lineups of both Boston Calling 2023 and Bonnaroo Music Festival.
