The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled their Rock Hall Class of 2020, which includes Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., and T. Rex. Additionally, longtime managers Jon Landau and Irving Azoff will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The inductees are largely first-time nominees, with only Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails having been nominated two times prior.
Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5, Motörhead, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, and Thin Lizzy were all nominees this year. Although Dave Matthews Band won the fan vote that is a contributing factor in the overall voting process, they ultimately were not included in the 2020 Class.
The 35th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Presented by Klipsch Audio takes places on May 2 at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland. The ceremony will be broadcast live on HBO and the SiriusXM Rock and Roll Hall of Fame radio station. Tickets go on sale Feb. 27, and performers for the event will be announced at a later date.
