Common is an American rapper and actor. Common began his music career in 1992, but gained mainstream success through his work with the Soulquarians in the late 90s. In 2000, his fourth album, Like Water for Chocolate, received mass critical and commercial success. Common has been nominated for Academy Awards, BET Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Grammy Awards, and Emmy Awards, among many other awards. He won an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, 3 Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award to name a few. Currently, Common continues to release music and perform, as well as star in movies and on television.
Common and Shaq have actually worked on a song together for Shaq's unreleased fifth studio album, Shaquille O'Neal Presents His Superfriends, Vol. 1. The song, entitled "In the Sun," features Black Thought, Common, and Joi and was produced by Questlove. Hear the song below.
