Bon Jovi's music video for their 2000 hit song "It's My Life" has crossed over the billion-views milestone on YouTube, making Bon Jovi the next act to enter YouTube's Billion Views Club.
"It's My Life" is the band's highest-viewed music video and first entry into the club. The billion-views news was announced Wednesday, June 30. "It's My Life" was released as the lead single off the rock band's seventh studio album Crush back in 2000. The song made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #33.
Upon its release, an accompanying music video directed by Wayne Isham was promptly released. It stars Will Estes and Shiri Appleby (Unreal, Roswell). Inspired by the movie Run Lola Run, it follows a teenager who tries to attend a Bon Jovi concert in an L.A. tunnel while making an action-packed trek through the city.
The music video was released in 2000, but didn't appear on YouTube until June 16, 2009. Jon Bon Jovi shared a special "thank you" message with fans and creators of the song and video on social media.
