Mount Westmore is a new West Coast hip hop supergroup composed of rappers Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too $hort. Today (October 20), they’ve shared their debut single called “Big Subwoofer” and an accompanying sci-fi video.
The goofy visual was directed by Jesse Wellens and Sam Macaroni. It sees the rappers co-piloting a spaceship, partying with blue Avatar-esque aliens on planet Snoopiter, and hanging out with an astronaut Shiba Inu.
The new song will appear on Snoop Dogg Presents: The Algorithm - an upcoming Def Jam project launched by Snoop Dogg that will feature artists from the label’s “past, present & future.” The legendary rapper - who is celebrating his 50th birthday today - has pulled together a group of artists for the record, which is set to drop November 12.
“There’s so much talent on this record,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement, “so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm. Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”
In other Snoop Dogg news, the rapper is set to perform during the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
