April 20, 2021 marks the three-year anniversary since the untimely death of Tim Bergling, otherwise known as the Swedish DJ Avicii. Little, Brown Book Group has acquired a forthcoming biography about Bergling's life from journalist Måns Mosesson. The book will be released November 16 in North America.
Mosesson is an award-winning investigative journalist, documentary producer, and in-depth reporter. He traveled to locations including Miami, Ibiza, and Los Angeles to track Bergling's short-yet-impactful career as he became the poster child of the EDM movement in the early 2010s.
Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii will tell Bergling's story through interviews with his family, friends, and collaborators. "The book paints an honest picture of Tim and his search in life, not shying from the difficulties that he struggled with," a press release on the project states.
The proceeds from the publication of Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii will be donated in full to the Tim Bergling Foundation, which focuses on mental health issues and suicide.
"I think it goes back to mental illness -- that’s where it comes from," Avicii's father Klas Bergling told Billboard about his understanding of suicide in a recent interview. "That’s something we don’t speak a lot about, the conversation is growing more and more. The more society opens up to talk about this, I think that it will be a big help."
