Guess who's back, back again? Among the other major records Eminem has set over the years, the rapper found another new milestone to celebrate when on Monday (January 10) he announced his YouTube subscriber count had crossed the 50 million mark.
“Now how the f--k did this metamorphosis happen? From standin’ on corners and porches just rappin,'" Slim Shady tweeted, taking lyrics from his 2002 Eminem Show single "Sing For the Moment." He tweeted the lyrics alongside a 46-second montage of some of his most beloved music videos, including snippets from “My Name Is,” “The Real Slim Shady,” “Stan,” and many more.
Since the former Detroit battle rapper has several videos with more than a billion views, it’s no surprise that Eminem's YouTube subscriber number has reached these heights. His videos that have moved into a billion-views territory include “Rap God,” “Love the Way You Lie,” and “Not Afraid.” Most recently, “Without Me” hit one billion views in November 2020, prompting him to release an HD version of the video.
With over 50 million subscribers, Eminem now has a higher count than Taylor Swift and takes the #7 spot on the most-subscribed YouTube artist list. He comes in just behind Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Marshmello, and BTS. Justin Bieber (67 million) and BLACKPINK (71.3 million) top the list.
In other Eminem news, the rapper is gearing up to participate in what promises to be one of the most epic Super Bowl Halftime Shows of all time. He'll be performing with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
