The Guitar Center in Hollywood unveiled a new mural yesterday (Jan. 26, 2021) in honor of the late legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. The unveiling marked what would've been his 66th birthday.
Visual artist Robert Vargas painted the 17-foot tall, 105-foot long mural, which he has named “Long Live The King.” The painting features Van Halen playing his signature “Frankenstrat” guitar.
The retailer wrote on social media, "In honor of @eddievanhalen's birthday, we unveiled an incredible tribute by artist @therobertvargas today at GC Hollywood. This mural celebrates the passion and virtuosity of Eddie's playing that has and will continue to inspire generations of musicians."
Eddie Van Halen passed away on Oct. 6, 2020 following a long battle with cancer.
