Post Malone is back. After announcing a new LP back in April, the artist has fulfilled his promise of releasing his fourth studio album in June. It's called Twelve Carat Toothache (named after Malone's own diamond teeth), and features contributions from Fleet Foxes, the Weeknd, Doja Cat, Roddy Ricch, Louis Bell, Gunna, and more.
Twelve Carat Toothache was released on June 3. Malone dropped the first single from the LP, “One Right Now,” back in November 2021. In an interview with Billboard’s Lyndsey Havens not long after that single’s release, Malone said that the songs on the album “speak more to how [he’s] feeling at the moment: the ups and downs and the disarray and the bipolar aspect of being an artist in the mainstream.”
Last month, Post Malone shared the single “Cooped Up,” featuring Roddy Ricch. He later performed the song with Ricch on Saturday Night Live. Also on SNL, Malone debuted “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol,” performing it with Fleet Foxes members Robin Pecknold and Christian Wargo, among others. Malone co-wrote “Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol” with Louis Bell and Pecknold.
Malone shared his third studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, in September 2019. The album featured the chart-topping single “Circles.” At the 2021 Grammy Awards, Malone was nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Circles,” as well as Album of the Year for Hollywood’s Bleeding. He also performed the album's title track at the 2021 Grammys.
Following Hollywood’s Bleeding, Post Malone did a string of collaborations with other artists. He worked with Ozzy Osbourne (“It’s a Raid”), Tyla Yaweh (“Tommy Lee”), Big Sean (“Wolves”), DJ Khaled (“I Did It”), Ty Dolla $ign (“Spicy”), Young Thug (“Livin It Up”), and others. He also shared the songs “Motley Crew,” “Only Wanna Be with You (Pokémon 25 Version),” and “Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers Theme.”
