The Rolling Stones will continue their No Filter tour starting this September and running until November. The 13-date tour will begin in St. Louis, Missouri and wrap up in Austin, Texas.
The Stones are hitting most of the cities they planned on playing in 2020, save for shows in Buffalo, Vancouver, Louisville, and Cleveland due to scheduling issues. To make up for it, the band is adding performances in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as an appearance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans.
According to the band's website, the pre-sale for the Stones' mailing list for the New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas shows will commence on July 28 at 12pm local time, ending on July 29 at 10pm local time. The general sale then begins July 30 at 10am local time. All tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.
Tickets for 2020 shows will still be honored with the new dates. Those with tickets to cancelled shows will be contacted by Ticketmaster with information about refunds and a possible “priority offer” to tickets in nearby cities.
The tour was originally supposed to begin May 8, 2020 at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, California with a 15-show run. Of course, that never happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the band released the song "Living In a Ghost Town" during their downtime. It was written before the pandemic, but re-written in some places to accommodate the new pandemic reality in the world.
Additionally, Mick Jagger teamed up with Dave Grohl to release the satirical pandemic song "Eazy Sleazy." Also in 2020, the Rolling Stones' song "Scarlet" got the special remix treatment from The War on Drugs, and The Killers and Jacques Lu Cont.
The Rolling Stones have not released a new album since 2005's A Bigger Bang, unless you count 2016's covers album Blue & Lonesome. However, they have spent a lot of time in the studio recently.
“We’ve got another five or six tracks and there’s a lot of sort of soul feel about it for some reason without anybody intending to,” Keith Richards said last year, when "Living In a Ghost Town" was released. “Obviously right now we’ve got nothing else to do but write some more songs, right?”
But for now, the iconic 60s' band is eager to complete their unfinished tour.
“I’m so excited to get back on the stage again,” Mick Jagger said in a statement, “and want to thank everyone for their patience. See you soon!”
“We’re back on the road!” added Keith Richards. “See you there!”
