Mary J. Blige has released the title track and single “Amazing” as teasers for her upcoming studio album, Good Morning Gorgeous.
The record will be released February 11: two days before Blige performs alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar during the 2022 Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in Inglewood, California.
Blige wrote “Good Morning Gorgeous” with D’Mile, H.E.R., Lucky Daye, and Tiara Thomas. As for production, H.E.R. produced the track alongside D’Mile and contributed guitar and background vocals. “Amazing,” featuring DJ Khaled, was written by Blige, Denisia Andrews, Brittany Coney, Khaled, Streetrunner, Tarik Azzouz, Willie Cobbs, and Ellas McDaniels. Khaled produced the song with the help of Streetrunner and Azzouz.
Good Morning Gorgeous is Mary J. Blige’s follow-up to her 2017 album Strength of a Woman. Blige talked about her new project in a press release.
“Working on this new album has been so much fun,” Blige stated. “I’m excited for my fans to hear these first two songs to give them a taste of what’s to come. I’m grateful to all my collaborators and partners who have walked with me through this process and even more grateful to my fans who I hope have a blast with this new music.”
While just the audio has been released for "Amazing," the song "Good Morning Gorgeous" comes with a new music video directed by Eif Riviera. "This one is special to me. When you feel beautiful on the inside the outside follows. With this video I felt both," Blige said about the new video in a social media post. "I hope you can take this record, let it sink in and apply it everyday. Good Morning Gorgeous!"
