Willow Announces Fifth Studio Album & Shares New Song
Willow has announced her fifth studio album. Called CopingMechanism, the record is out September 23 via Roc Nation. It was produced by Willow and Blame Candy band member Chris Greatti.
Willow revealed the news via social media yesterday (August 4). Besides dropping a pre-order link, she posted a photograph of what appears to be some album artwork: an electric guitar smashed through an old TV set.
Alongside the announcement comes a new single titled “hover like a GODDESS.” In a statement, Willow said about the punk rock track, “Every woman deserves to be worshiped. This song is an ode to the divine goddess within us all.”
The upcoming album will open with Willow’s recent single “maybe it's my fault,” which was released last month. Alongside the latest single, Willow has also released an official visualizer for "hover like a GODDESS." It sees the young artist singing and floating in a dark grassy space.
CopingMechanism will follow Willow’s 2021 album Lately I Feel Everything, which included the hit song “Transparent Soul” and featured guest appearances from Travis Barker, Tierra Whack, Avril Lavigne, and more. Since releasing her previous record, Smith has largely focused on collaborative releases. She teamed up with Machine Gun Kelly on "Emo Girl"; Siiickbrain for the song "Purge"; Camila Cabello on her Familia track "Psychofreak"; and PinkPantheress for the Paramore-sampling single "Where You Are."
