The first round of 2023 Grammy Awards performers has been announced. Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Brandi Carlile, Kim Petras, Sam Smith, and Luke Combs are all set to perform in Los Angeles on February 5.
Each of the performers are connected to Grammy nominations this year. Bad Bunny is nominated for three awards at the 2023 Grammys, including Album of the Year – making him the first nominee in the category with an all-Spanish-language album. At the 2021 Grammy Awards, he and Jhay Cortez performed “Dákiti.”
Mary J. Blige is also nominated for Album of the Year for the deluxe version of Good Morning Gorgeous. It’s one of six nominations for the R&B star. Steve Lacy received four nominations, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for breakthrough hit “Bad Habit.” Meanwhile, Lizzo nabbed five nominations, following her wins and performance at the 2020 Grammys.
Brandi Carlile has become a regular at the Grammys, having performed in 2020, 2021, and 2022. She’s nominated for seven awards this year. Sam Smith and Kim Petras are nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Finally, country star Luke Combs has never won a Grammy Award, but he has three chances to do so this year, having been nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, Best Country Album, and Best Country Song.
As previously mentioned, the 2023 Grammy Awards will take place on February 5 and will broadcast live on CBS – as well as stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ – at 8-11:30pm ET/5-8:30pm PT. Trevor Noah will return as host.
