Chicago music festival Lollapalooza has announced its 2022 lineup. Dua Lipa, Metallica, Green Day, J. Cole, Machine Gun Kelly, and Doja Cat are slated to perform at the event.
Additional performers at the four-day festival include Lil Baby, Kygo, Jane’s Addiction, Glass Animals, Billy Strings, Big Sean, The Kid Laroi, Jazmine Sullivan, Don Toliver, Charli XCX, Idles, Turnstile, Kaskade, Rezz, King Princess, Remi Wolf, Fletcher, Zach Bryan, PinkPatheress, Muna, Goth Babe, Role Model, Wet Leg, Gracie Abrams, Pi’erre Bourne, Glaive, Maude Latour, and many others.
Over 170 acts will take the stage at the festival, which runs from July 28 to 31 at Grant Park. A handful of Chicago-originating acts will also make appearances, including 100 gecs, John Summit, Beach Bunny, Horsegirl, and Jackie Hayes.
Some former Lollapalooza festival activities will make their return this year. One of those activities is Kidzapalooza: an interactive music playground within the festival featuring a lineup of family-friendly performances, activities, music, dance workshops, and more. The Bonus Tracks stage is also back. It is an area within Grant Park with specialized programming focused on community, dancing, mindfulness, and inclusivity.
As for new activities, Lollapalooza will be unveiling a variety of NFT options and experiences for fans throughout the festival season. Created in collaboration with NFT communities, each NFT will also include various levels of benefits while attending the festival.
Like other festivals and concert events in recent times, Lollapalooza will be doing its part to cut down environmental impact. It is teaming up with TURN to address the use of single-use plastic. Attendees will be able to return their cups to be entered for the chance to win prizes like VIP ticket upgrades, festival cash, and more.
Last year, Lollapalooza celebrated its 30th anniversary. It was one of the first music festivals to re-open after the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered live events. Besides being held in person, it also streamed exclusively on Hulu. No details have been confirmed yet if Lollapalooza 2022 will be streamed on Hulu, but a general livestream for the event will be available on Lollapalooza's YouTube channel.
Four-Day General Admission, GA+, VIP, and Platinum tickets, along with Destination Experience Hotel Packages, will be available today (March 22) at noon CT. To purchase tickets, visit the Lollapalooza website. Single Day Tickets will be available at a later date. Kids 10 and under get in free with a ticketed adult.
