Britney Spears' conservatorship will be examined in an upcoming episode of the FX docuseries The New York Times Presents that's set to air on Feb. 5. Ahead of the premiere of "Framing Britney Spears," a 30-second trailer has been released.
Since 2008, Spears has been under a conservatorship led by her father. In November 2020, Spears asked the court to remove her father from the role of co-conservator of her estate. The sixth episode of The New York Times Presents will cover Spears' music career, legal battles with the conservatorship, and the #FreeBritney movement.
"Her rise was a global phenomenon. Her downfall was a cruel national sport," reads the description of the trailer. "People close to Britney Spears and lawyers tied to her conservatorship now reassess her career as she battles her father in court over who should control her life."
"Framing Britney Spears" will air on Feb. 5 on FX and FX on Hulu.
