Nearly two years since his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acceptance speech, Trent Reznor returned to his hometown of Cleveland for Nine Inch Nails' induction performance, which saw him reunite with four members from the band’s early days.
For context: Nine Inch Nails were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was changed to a TV broadcast. A live celebration in Cleveland was then announced for 2021, but it was later cancelled and rescheduled for 2022.
On Friday (September 23), the band hosted Nine Inch Nails Fan Day before performing at the Blossom Music Center on Saturday, as Rolling Stone and Cleveland.com reported. Chris Vrenna, Richard Patrick, Danny Lohner, and Charlie Clouser sat down for a Q&A Friday night, and later joined the band on Saturday. Together, they performed six songs from the Pretty Hate Machine era as well as a cover of the Filter single “Hey Man Nice Shot.”
Nine Inch Nails last released Ghosts VI: Locusts and Ghosts V: Together back in March 2020. They returned to the road in 2022, with support from Yves Tumor, 100 gecs, Ministry, Boy Harsher, and Nitzer Ebb
